Ireland's Largest Environment Conference
Environment Ireland, now in its third year, is Ireland’s largest conference
on environmental policy and management and is organised by bmf
conferences in association with the Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) and the Department of Environment, Heritage & Local
Government. The conference which is attended by over 300 delegates
will take place at the Burlington Hotel conference centre.
The theme for the 2007 conference is ‘Towards 2020: Improving
Ireland’s Environment’. It comes at a time of an increasing pace of
change as environmental issues rise up both national and corporate
agendas. It will again bring together, at the highest level, all those
individuals and organisations
with an interest in
environmental policy and
management. Its objective is to
create a genuine, in-depth
understanding of areas where
environmental issues have an
impact on the island as a
whole, and how progress can
be made on them.
The 2007 Event
The conference will feature a panel of experts presenting on key
environmental issues such as:
- Resources management (waste,
water, energy),
- Climate change,
- Sustainable development,
- Transport,
- Water Resource Management,
- Environment and the economy

Through the plenary sessions
and extensive workshop programme, the two day event will
highlight existing areas of best practice, as well as drawing
attention to policy areas where possible all-island co-operation can
be initiated or extended. This North-South focus will be an
important feature of the conference.
