This seminar will give delegates an insight into how the devolved administration in Northern Ireland functions. Although many organisations looking to influence government focus their efforts on the Assembly, the parts of the wider government are equally important in policy-making and in delivering the outcomes of any policy decisions.
The seminar will look at the role of the key players in the devolved administration including ministers and their
advisors. It will also look at the working of the public sector organisations which deliver public services. It will also look at the interaction of the Assembly and the Executive and the civil service and public sector organisations. Delegates will get an overview of the institutions of government and how they interact with each other.
Featured speakers include:
| Edwin Poots, MLA former Minister of Culture, Arts & Leisure |
Trevor Reaney Clerk/Director-General Northern Ireland Assembly |
||
| Michael McKernan Ministerial Advisor Department for Social Development |
Breedagh Hughes UK Board Secretary for Northern Ireland Royal College of Midwives |
||
| Gerry McGinn former Permanent Secretary Department of Education & Department for Regional Development |
Brian Crowe Head of Policy Ulster Unionist Party |
