Bringing Northern Ireland's Energy Players Together...

Northern Ireland Energy Forum 2007

The Northern Ireland Energy Forum has firmly established itself as the annual conference event for Northern Ireland’s energy sector. The 2007 Forum will once again bring together all the key players, both from within Northern Ireland and further afield, to focus on the most important aspects of energy policy and latest developments from across the sector. Adding even more interest to this year’s event is the fact that, now in its fifth year, this will be the first Energy Forum to take place in the era of devolution and local decision-making on the key energy issues facing Northern Ireland.

Energy-related issues are continuing to receive an unprecedented level of attention at the national, European and international level, driven by an ever-increasing focus on the climate change challenge, following on from Sir Nicholas Stern's important report published earlier this year. There is enhanced emphasis on identifying lowcarbon technologies, and on the development of renewable generation. All these issues are also significant at the Northern Ireland level, along with market developments, infrastructure investment and the increased deployment of renewable energy technologies in the domestic sector.

The fifth Annual Northern Ireland Energy Forum will examine these issues through an expert speaker panel comprised of both local and visiting presenters.
