Continued operations in the event of a disruption, whether due to a major disaster, or a minor incident is a fundamental requirement for any organisation. This applies equally to a multi-national business employing large numbers of people, a government agency providing a vital public service or an SME or charity where a small number of people are vital to the operation of the organisation. Crises such as fire, illness of key staff or IT system failure could all make it difficult or even impossible for an organisation to continue with its normal day-to-day activities.
Effective risk management allows organisations to take steps to identify potential crises and determine how they will put in place strategies to deal with them in order to minimize disruption. Against the backdrop of increasing economic pressure, the need for risk and business continuity management has never been greater.
This seminar will examine how business continuity management can make a real difference to any organisation, by improving its flexibility, readiness and ultimate viability in the face of an ever-changing risk environment. There will be a particular focus on the importance of business continuity and risk management during the current turbulent economic climate with organisations confronted by ongoing financial uncertainty and a continuing difficult operating environment. It brings together a panel of experts in this important business discipline who will share their expertise and provide an overview of best practice.
